The two companies first partnered in 2018 to mark National Root Beer Month and National Root Beer Float Day with the creation of Hank’s Root Beer Shake Float.
Hank’s and Bassetts’ newest creation marries a double scoop of Bassett's pumpkin and cinnamon ice cream with a 12-ounce bottle of Hank’s popular seasonal flavor, its Hank’s Pumpkin Spice Soda. These ingredients are then blended to a creamy froth and served in a 21-ounce walkaway cup. Price: $8.50. The promotion will run through Thanksgiving Day.
Philly foodies can sample this sweet treat exclusively at the Bassetts Ice Cream location in downtown Philadelphia’s Reading Terminal Market, where Bassetts launched its ice cream empire and has continued to operate, since 1861. Hank’s, the pioneering beverage company founded in 1995 and the new float, are named after Hank Salvatore, the late company founder, and a popular 4-term Philadelphia Councilman.
