PHILADELPHIA -The African American Museum in Philadelphia was one of the first museums to be funded by the city. Its primary purpose is to interpret and preserve African American heritage. Today, the museum is a popular place to visit, and the building has many different exhibits to see.

It is also the first museum in the United States to feature artifacts that were crafted by African Americans. This is a great place to start a journey of discovery, and you can be sure to find something you are interested in.

The African American Museum in Philadelphia has returned to normal hours and will once again welcome visitors. The closure of the museum was caused by the coronavirus pandemic, which has now subsided.

The exhibit, entitled "The Color of History," features designs by noted artist Anna Russell Jones. Jones is the first Black graduate of Moore College of Art and Design. The exhibition is a perfect match for Jones' career, as it highlights her interest in African American history and culture.

The AAMP features a permanent exhibition and various temporary exhibitions. The Petrucci Family Foundation Collection of African American Art is currently on view. This exhibit allows visitors to see works of art by early African masters, as well as works by youth. It is one of the best collections of African art in the country, and the museum is free to visit. In addition to the permanent collection, the museum also houses a large gift shop.
